At the north end of the hot Dry Creek Valley, this vineyard yielded a classic Cabernet in an excellent vintage. The concentrated flavors remain in balance with a broad and deep texture. Extended aging in a combination of 40% new barrels, primarily French in origin, for 17 months has tempered this wine and allowed a long maturation to soften tannins and integrate the toasty oak. A small amount of malbec was added to lift the aromatics and compliment the fruit.
